I recently was able to move back into my home. I had been having work done on it and we were staying with family. During this time my Internet access was limited to my iPhone. I am now back at home and hope to be able to focus on the plugins more and more.
The calendar that is on my sidebar is the version that is in the works. The work has been done by Heirem. His work is much apreciated and I now hope to be able to put forth more effort in the development of the site.
I am planning on reopening the events calendar support site at a later time. I decided to go a different route on the server so I will be looking into other options. In the mean time support questions will be able to be answered here and at http://heirem.fr
I look forward to your comments.
Welcome back to work. Great news to see the calendar back up and good luck with reopening the support site.
I am working on a plugin that exports future Events Calendar events as an iCal file so it can be used with Google Calendar (and other programs)
Would you be interested in rolling this into the real deal?
It’s great to have you back to work. You’re doing an excellent work with Event Calendar, I think it’s the best alternative nowadays.
I would really like to see the calender offer an RSS feed for people to subscribe, as well as a way for the calendar itself to show subscriptions to other calendars feeds. Also, on the larger view calendar, it would be nice to ‘color’ different events when setting up the event.
Hey,
just thought I’d let you know I’m using your ajax plugin for my bands site. We have a flash player so visitors can listen to our songs, but every time they’d click somewhere, the song would restart, so ajax or a frame were the only solutions.
Thanks for making such a great plugin, I tried several others, but this one is working best for me
I have your Quote Rotator and love it. (See my use of it at:
http://theatre-of-the-air.com/WordPress/
BUT since the advent of WordPress 2.7 there is no longer a way to add/delete/edit the quotes.
Can you PLEASE make Quote Rotator compaticle with WordPress 2.7?
Much thanks
Hi Luke and fans of Luke,
I’m new to WP and am looking to display a calendar two ways — first as a small calendar on the homepage, and then again on its own page showing a large full-month calendar. (Same events for both.)
Does Events Calendar support this? If not, any recommendations for something that does?
Many thanks!
Thanks for the great plugin. I just added the Events Calendar to a friend’s site, and it looks solid. The only thing I’m struggling with is that the months all run together (e.g., November December 2008 January). The screenshot examples on the plugin page had the preceding and upcoming months abbreviated (e.g., Nov December 2008 Jan). How can I fix it so that the months are abbreviated?
I just got around to upgrading WordPress to 2.7, and I cannot find the controls for Quote Rotator, i.e., randomizing them and controlling how long they stay on the screen. I notice that Akismet Configuration shows up under the new Plugins menu over on the left; is that where QR ought to be? What am I missing?
Hm. I don’t seem to be able to edit individual quotes, either.
I haven’t done much work on the quote rotator plugin lately. I will work on some updates for the new versions of wordpress. The main changes will be the admin section.
Thanks–we look forward to the updates. QR is an awesome plugin! (We use it over at The Lichtenbergian Society to display over 400 of Georg Christoph Lichtenberg’s aphorisms.)
Hello Everyone,
Has anyone anywhere got the events calender working with Featured Content Gallery? My site is: http://www.stusreviews.com. I’ve been trying to debug with no success.
Since WordPress 2.7 the editing section of Quote Rotator has disappeared.
It was not tested for 2.7. I am going to do some updates very soon. I am hoping to get something done tonight.
Hello Luke,
Im using WordPress 2.7 and Events Calendar 6.5.2.1. My problem is the events that I posted doesn’t appear on the Large Calendar. I’ve done deactivating and activating the plugin and try a post but still the event does’nt appear in my events calendar. here is the link: http://eaa.edu.ph/schedules/seminars/ . The post that I’ve made last december and january is working, but in the month of february is a problem. Needed an urgent reply. Thank you very much.
Dave
Hi Luke
Thanks for developing such an exciting tool. I’m trying it out for an art school’s blog i’m working on at the moment and think it will be really useful for them.
http://mfa.meca.edu
I have a question about the formating of the calendar: how might i change the styles on the calendar itself, specifically on the days of the week (they are showing up as white on very light grey at the moment and are very hard to read.
Thanks again.
I’m new to your Event Calendar plugin and I noticed you have an option to Create Post for Event. it would be nice to be able to pick a category in which to post. Is this possible?
As of this time there is not a way to add a category to the post. This will be coming in a future release.
Dear Luke, I confirm that I am delighted that you are back in the community, hoping that you find what you need. We will continue to do good work together
@Pat Hawks : I am in charge of developing the next version. I am very interested in your proposal. You can contact me on my blog. Thanx by advance.
@Derrick: have you search on my blog a post which explain the method to add the categories of posts when creating an event?
Best regards
Hi Luke,
Many thanks for the calendar, which is very useful and aesthetic too.
I have noticed a bug however which may relate to time zones: here in Sydney, the date is shown correctly but the previous day is shown.
Please check my blog to see what I mean.
how can i change the look. the colors don’t go with my theme.
Cindy,
You’ll need to edit the /wp-content/plugins/events-calendar/css/events-calendar.css file in order to change colors and such to suit your theme.
Luke,
Fantastic plugin, love it!
I have a question similar to Cindy’s and hope that you can help. Since I am running WPMU on my site, I need to be able to change the calendar colors to suit each individual theme, I’m not fluent with code but was wondering if there was a way to edit the calendar’s php files so that the calendar automatically selects the default theme text and background colors so that when there is a dark theme the text is legible and the colors match. I noticed that the calendar days “mon, tues, wed…etc” are already set to do this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to double post, but just for an example, here is one of the customer sites calendar page http://jameson.sitesires.com/the-board-room/
Thanks again!
Regarding the calendar, I’d like to have individual pages have their own calendar (ie. the West Coast Branch page have their own calendar with their own events, and the East Coast Branch page have their own calendar with their own events.) – think this may be possible in a upcoming release?
Concerning Quote Rotator… when accessing my site the widget does not auto start. The page must be refreshed to begin. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi Luke!
I noticed that you changed the Calendar to match the themes backgrounds….bravo! Thank you very much, looks great!

Almost forgot,
I found a bug that I cannot seem to figure out.
http://sitesires.com/wp-content/courtney/event-calendar-error.gif
It says that the end time is earlier then the start time but as you can see it’s the following day after at 2am.
Any help would be great!
Thanks!

Yes, is there a forum for this plugin. I’m sure that my question is terribly simple and has been answered a million times. However, I read that if you want the calendar to be large, you place the [[events calendar]] in the HTML of the page. Ok! Which page? LOL I looked through all of the pages and I can’t find the homepage. What is the page labeled? Is it in the WP Admin section of the tree of the Plug THeme area? After I’ve found the page, does it matter where I insert the [[events calendar]]?
Thanks. I’m obviously a newbie. Thanks for the help.
I have translated your Events-calendar to Swedish, where should I send the files so you can include them in your download file?
After reading this article, I just feel that I need more information on the topic. Could you share some resources ?
